- The Alaska Communications Summer of Heroes Program - Six kids will receive $1,500 for training purposes. - Anyone can nominate a young hero in their life. Tell us about a child or teen, age 6-18, who is improving life for those around them. Whether it was to support others during the pandemic or an ongoing effort. - AlaskaAdvantage Education Grant ‐ this grant is awarded based on financial need and, while its amount usually varies between $500 and $2,000 there is a special category of award providing up to $4,000. The priority AEGs are reserved for students scoring in the top quartile on the SAT or ACT, and for students in designated Alaska workforce shortage areas. - Alaska Performance Scholarship ‐ there are two types of Alaska Performance Scholarship. One is the Career and Technical Education Award for those who intend to seek job training. Applicants need to submit a qualifying WorkKeys score. The other is the Collegiate Award for high-school students who have at least a 2.5 GPA plus an ACT score or 21 or an SAT score of 1450 in a curriculum designated by the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education as rigorous and plan to attend college. - Alaska Commision on Post-secondary Education (AKCPE) Performance Scholarship
- Alaska Housing Finance Corporation ‐ scholarship of up to $2,500 is available for families receiving AHFC housing assistance and covers everything from technical training to college tuition; deadline to apply is usually May 31 of a given year; adults may apply if they wish to attend a vocational, trade, or academic school; high-school seniors may apply if they plan to attend a vocational, trade, or academic school in the fall semester immediately after graduating from high school; please go to https://www.ahfc.us/tenants/resources/education-scholarship for more details.

- FASFA ‐ certain income eligibility requirements apply, including:
- the Federal Pell Grant → low-income Students, and
- the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. Please see the eligibility requirements for more details about the income-based payment plans. For a limited time, borrowers may receive credit for past periods of repayment that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF. So, if you, or someone you know, has a federal student loan and works for a federal, state, local, or tribal government or qualifying non-profit employer, or who is in the military, the U.S. Department of Education’s new PSLF Help Tool, available via https://studentaid.gov/pslf/, may be useful.
